1948 Apr Japanese Archaeological Association celebrates its inauguration at the Tokyo National Museum (First President: Ryosaku Fujita, with 81 regular members and 5 affiliate members).
Establishes the Ad Hoc Committee on Toro Site Archaeological Excavation (The Committee dissolved in 1954).
1950 Mar Number of regular members exceeds 123.
1951 Oct Publishes the first issue of Archaeologia Japonica.
1953 Oct Publishes the first issue of Bulletin of the Japanese Archaeological Association.
1956 Dec Publishes Nihon Nokobunka no Seisei [Formation of Agricultural Culture in Japan].
1962 Dec Publishes Nihon Kokogaku Jiten [Dictionary on Japanese Archaeology].
1965 May Establishes the Ad Hoc Committee on Policy for the Archaeological Heritage Management (The Committee dissolved in1971).
1967 Mar Publishes Nihon no Dokeetsu Iseki [Cave Sites in Japan]. Number of regular members exceeds 500.
1971 May Establishes the Committee on Policy for the Archaeological Heritage Management as a standing committee (renames the ad hoc committee of the same title).
Dec Publishes the first edition of Maizo Bunkazai Hakusho [White Paper on Archaeological Heritages].
1972 May Renames the Bulletin of the Japanese Archaeological Association in Japanese (The English title unchanged).
1981 May Publishes the second edition of Maizo Bunkazai Hakusho [White Paper on Archaeological Heritages].
1994 Nov Publishes the first issue of  the Association’s journal, Nihon Kokogaku.
1995 May Establishes the Ad Hoc Committee on Archaeological Heritage Rescue in Response to the 1995 Great Hanshin Earthquake (The Committee dissolved in 2000). Number of regular members exceeds 3,000.
1998 Apr Celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Association’s founding. Holds a commemorative lecture meeting, and publishes Nihon Kokogaku no 50-nen [Fifty years of Archaeology in Japan].
2003 May Publishes the final report of Zen-Chuki Kyu-sekki Netsuzo Mondai no Kensho [Investigation of the Issues Related to the Fabrication of Early and Middle Paleolithic Sites in Japan].
2004 Mar Reorganizes the Association as a limited liability intermediate corporation (The English name unchanged), and establishes the articles of incorporation.
Launches an official website.
2005 May Publishes the third edition of Maizo Bunkazai Hakusho [White Paper on Archaeological Heritages].
2006 May Formulates the Code of Ethics of the Association.
2007 Sep Number of regular members exceeds 4,000.
2009 May Reorganizes the Association as a general incorporated association (The English name unchanged).
2011 May Establishes the Ad Hoc Committee on Countermeasures against the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake.
2013 Dec Publishes the first issue of the Association’s electronic English journal Japanese Journal of Archaeology.
